About Me
I’m an M.A. student in the Geography Department at the University of British Columbia. Broadly defined, my research interests are in energy, environmental history and Latin America. Currently, I am studying the history and geography of hydroelectricity in Chile. I’m also interested in the application of GIS methods and tools in historical research. I am only just starting to learn the basics of GIS, but I aim to use this website to share my projects as they develop.
Before grad school, I worked as journalist in South America for many years, principally covering the energy sector. I have a B.A. in Newspaper Journalism and Anthropology from Syracuse University.
